# Remove a manifest item belonging to this shipment. Requires delete permission.

### Path parameters

**id** `string` *required*

Shipment ID (UUID)

**item\_id** `string` *required*

Shipment item ID (UUID)

### Query parameters

**expected\_version** `integer (int32)`

Version read from the shipment; stale edits return 409.

### Response

No response body. Manifest item removed.

### Status codes

| Code | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `204` | Manifest item removed |
| `400` | Malformed or unknown version precondition |
| `404` | Shipment or its item not found |
| `409` | Stale shipment version |
| `422` | Shipment no longer packing |
